There are many different kinds of auto accessories that you may come across when you own your own car, and not all of them will be useful to every driver. Other cars will come pre fitted with certain accessories so you will not have to buy them separately.
Satellite Navigation
One of the most popular auto accessories of recent years has been the Satellite Navigation, or Sat Nav, which uses GPS positioning satellites to pinpoint your exact location, nearly anywhere in the world, and guide you to your destination.
Most Sat Nav units come as a small screen which can be attached to your windscreen and are powered by batteries or power from your cigarette lighter. As one of the world’s most popular auto accessories Sat Nav’s have grown in popularity and sophistication in recent years, and can now tell you how fast you are really travelling at any one time, highlighting the inconsistency of car speedo’s, and the time it should take to get to your next destination.
Some of the most modern Sat Navs also use the signal from your mobile phone to find traffic jams, and guide you around them, helping you get to your destination as quickly as possible.
Alloy wheels
Another of the most popular auto accessories are alloy wheels, which can really add to a car’s looks and are often offered as standard on most luxury and high end cars sold around the world. As one of the largest ranges of auto accessories in the world, there are literally thousands of different alloy wheels to choose from, and they come in many different shapes, sizes and colours, with some even coming with spinning disks that carry on spinning even once the wheel has stopped.
Car Mats
Another of the oldest auto accessories available are car mats, a customer designed mat that is often placed over the factory provided mats in a car to offer additional protection to the carpet and original look of the car. Again coming in all different shapes and colours, some drivers prefer the feel of carpet under their feet, while others prefer the easy clean attributes of rubber car mats.
Car Audio
Some of the oldest auto accessories is car audio, with the first radio dating back to the 1930’s, only a little after the invention of the car.
