Available in four trim levels-the LS, LT, LTZ and SS and a 3.5L, V6; 3.9L V6 and a 5.3L small block V8 both with a system to use all or fewer cylinders to conserve fuel, the Impala can be tailored to suit just about every discriminating driver. Both the 3.5L V6 in the Impala 1LT and the 3.9L V6 in the Impala 2LT feature the ability to operate on E85 alternative fuel, which is a blend of 85% ethanol and 15%, or regular unleaded gasoline. As has been typical on previous Impala's, safety and security features are amongst the best out there. Cranial omentum airbags and front driver and passenger airbags with a passenger sensing system, battery with rundown protection, automatic programmable door locks, LATCH system, OnStar System, and a hijack-proof system all come standard on all 2008 Impala models.
The remote vehicle starter that comes standard on all models with the exception of the LS not only starts your Impala, it automatically warms up or cools down the interior based on outdoor temperature and defrosts the outside mirrors when necessary too!
When seating for five is necessary, the Impala is roomy enough for two adults in front and three adults in the back to ride comfortably. When it's more cargo space you need, the intuitively designed flip and fold flat rear seats allow for several spacious configurations. Raising one or both of the rear seat cushions reveals a composite storage tray that runs the entire width of the rear floor, allowing for transport of taller items or storage of personal belongings. Folding down both rear seat backs creates a flat load floor for additional cargo carrying options.
