Chevrolet Monte Carlo Review Featuring SS Parts, Accessories

by admin on September 8, 2011

The Chevrolet Monte Carlo is a staple car of Chevrolet and one that most will recognize as the pace car for many NASCAR races that have taken place throughout the years. The car comes from a long standing tradition of affordable muscle cars that the person would find as something suitable to drive each and every day. With that being said, the last Monte Carlo that was produced was in 2007, thus there is no 2012 model that is upcoming. However, the 2007 version of the Monte Carlo is one that people are still buying today, granted they are used, but they are still great cars to have as your own.

The Monte Carlo for 2007 came out in three different trims levels. There was the LS model that has a 3.5 liter V6 engine that is able to use flex fuel if the person so desires it to. It was equipped with an automatic transmission, and was able to get gas mileage in the city of nineteen miles to the gallon, while also getting twenty nine miles on the highway. It did come equipped with an MP3 player. Optional equipment included the stability and traction control, as well as side curtain airbags for those that want additional safety. Today, the car would see for around ten grand.

The second version of the 2007 Monte Carlo is the LT version, which is the mid trim level for the Monte Carlo’s of this year. This version also included the 3.5 liter, V6 engine that is going to get a gas mileage of 19 in the city and 29 on the highway. However, many of the aspects that were optional on the LS version are included with the LT version, cindering the stability control, and traction control. However, optional equipment included the side curtain airbags and satellite radio. Today’s going price for a LT version in good shape is around eleven thousand dollars.

The final version that was offered with this car was the SS, which is perhaps the bread and butter of the Monte Carlo family. This car has V8, 5.3 liter engine that get fuels mileage of sixteen miles in the city and 24 miles on the highway. The person will have an automatic transmission, an MP3 Player, satellite radio, traction control, and stability control with this car. The price today that the person will find on this car is around fifteen thousand.

Safety wise, the car, no matter what version, has anti lock brakes, and front side air bags are still optional. The NHTSA testing ratings for the car gave it five stars on front end crashes, however, only three stars on side crashes for those that were sitting in the front, while those that are in the back were a bit more protected with the side crashes.

One of the many things about the Monte Carlo that people loved was the fact that it had the sleek lines and the engine to back up the sporty look and perform like it really is the performance car that they have been dreaming of owning, yet it still had plenty of interior room. Those that have ever sat in one of these cars will find that the back seat is actually really comfortable, which is a surprise to most people since they expect to find themselves cramped up.

Overall, this car was a priceless one that many people wished the company would have kept making since it really was one of the best selling cars that they had. However, they needed to make way for new things, and this car was one of those that were on the list to go. But, they are still a popular car to buy used, and many people seek these out.
