Chevrolet S-10 ZR2 extreme truck

by admin on September 8, 2011

When people are wanting to find a nice small truck, then they are going to find that one of those trucks that goes down in history as one of the best is the Chevrolet S10. The last production of the Chevrolet S10 was 2004, therefore, there is no 2012 version that will be available. The overall rating that this truck received in 2004 is an 8.5 when taking into consideration the price, the performance and the overall consumer happiness with the product. During the production time during the 2004 year, the S10 was basically there to fill a gap for Chevrolet as they waited for the new Colorado to take its place. Thus, there was only one version offered of the vehicle and this was the S10 LS.

The LS had a 4.3 V6 engine, automatic transmission, four wheel drive and could get around fourteen miles per gallon while in the city and eighteen miles a gallon on the highway. It was only available as a crew cab for this year, which was something that many people were not big fans of, but the truck was still one that sold half way decent for the company. So what about the driving of the vehicle?

When the truck was brand new, most people found that it was a decent driving truck that could handle what they asked of it. However, this was not a truck that was meant for hauling heavy loads since it is not a full size truck. The person would find that they could haul those small things that they needed without any problems though. Most people are really surprised to find that the bed is very heavy and it does handle its fair share of loads quite easily. Those that drove the truck state that it is a good drive and fun to drive, however, there is a bit of road noise that they have to contend with on the road. Many people state that this sounds as if the window is slightly cracked, yet it is not. Other problems that people found was that over time the dashboard would rattle as though it has come loose, but once again this is something that the person will find comes with an aging truck.

In terms of the interior, most people like the fact that you can put things behind the seats if you are not needing the crew cab to haul more people. Add into the fact that the seats are rather comfortable, most people find that the interior is one that they would like to see in other future vehicles. The radio is something that most people are having fun with as it has aspects that many of them have not had in their trucks before.

Safety wise, the truck had quite a few things going for it, including the ability to dim the headlights as dusk approached, daytime running lights, remote anti theft alarm system, child seat anchored, anti lock brake system, electronic brake force distribution for better stopping power, and an engine immobilizer. At the time, this was considered to be pretty standard safety equipment. Price wise, when the 2004 Chevrolet S10 was brand new, most people could expect to pay a little of twenty thousand for the truck. Nowadays, finding this new, the person would find that they could get this for around ten thousand.

Though the company quite making this truck in 2004, most people still recognize it when they see it since there are plenty of these that are still around. The person will find that most of those that have these are hanging on to them, simply because they adore the truck and cannot find anything that fits their standards as this truck does.
