2008 Dodge Magnum Performance Review
The 2008 Dodge Magnum comes in four model types the base SE, SXT, R/T and SRT8. While the SE version is powered by a 2.7 Liter Hemi V-8 engine, the SXT version is powered by a 3.5 liter V-6, the R/T version is powered by a 5.7 liter V8 engine. The top of the line SRT8 version is powered by a 6.8 Liter HEMI V-8 Engine. The Base models SE engine is good and gives enough power to make ones ride pleasant, but on racing the engine there is no instant powerful feeling coming from the engine. The V6 and V8 engines on the SXT and R/T versions are good while the SRT8 makes ones ride very pleasant. Though the SRT8 fuel economy offered is very low
The Magnum for the model year 2008 has been given a brand new frontage, and depending on the model type one buys one will get halogen headlights, comfort control and a back seat music system. Apart from these features the SE model has been equipped with 17 inch steel tires, a extendable steering wheel, while the SXT has 17 inch alloy tires. The R/T version has been equipped with 18 inch tires, a better suspension, cowhide upholstered seats which are heated if one is seated in the front. The SRT8 has almost the same features as the R/T but has 20 inch tires, newer brakes, the suspension and steering have a sporting look and feel about it. While the SE version is powered by a four speed gear system, the rest are powered by a five speed gear system. One can choose between an all wheel drive and rear wheel drive versions for the SXT and R/T model, the SE and SRT8 come equipped with rear wheel drive only.
