2008 GMC Savana Passenger Van
The 2008 GMC Savana is a three or four door passenger van that comes in two styles, regular wheelbase and extended wheelbase. The former is available in half ton and 1 ton bodies, while the latter is available in and 1 ton bodies. There are two versions of the Savana that are available, LS and LT.
The LS half ton model is powered by a 5.3 Liter V8 engine that is rated at 335 horsepower. The Half ton models are equipped with a four speed automatic transmission. The one ton models are powered by a 6.0 Liter V8 engine that is rated at 300 horsepower and are equipped with a heavy duty version of the four speed automatic transmission. The half ton models can tow 6300 pounds whereas the one ton models can tow 9800 pounds. The 2008 Savana LS version, although sparsely equipped, is an able-bodied cargo hauler. The LS is equipped with air conditioning, a music system that offers AM/FM radio and a theft-deterrent system.
The Savana LT model is equipped with heating and air conditioning in the back, windows and locks that are powered; a steering wheel with tilt, and keyless entry. Optional equipment on the 2008 LT is a driver and front passenger’s seat that is powered, alloy wheels and a music system which has a CD player that can store 6 CDs, with controls located on the steering wheel.
The 2008 GMC Savana is equipped with anti-lock brakes, a sensor that disables the front seat air bag automatically if it feels a child or small adult is sitting in the front seat, while in the one ton model one has to manually disable the air bag. The controls on the Savana are easy to use, but leg room is at a premium.
