The 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is a convertible which seats 4 passengers and is available in the GS and GT models. The GS model is powered by a 2.4 Liter engine that is rated at 162 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque and is equipped with a five speed manual transmission. The GT model is powered by a 3.8 Liter V6 engine that is rated at 260 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The GT model is equipped with a six speed manual transmission. The GT model can achieve a speed of 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds. The fuel economy ratings of the Eclipse Spyder GS Model are 19 miles per gallon on city streets and 26 miles per gallon on the highway. The fuel economy ratings of the Eclipse Spyder GT Model are 16 miles per gallon on city streets and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.

The only problem with the Spyder is that in the back only children can seat comfortably, as there is no space for an adult to fit into the tight space. It has simple easy to use controls, but its roof when opened reduced the baggage storage space.
