2008 Pontiac Vibe GT accessory review
The 2008 Pontiac Vibe is a small 4-door wagon that seats five passengers. The Vibe is available in a single model that is powered by a 1.8 Liter engine that has four cylinders and is rated at 126 horsepower. The engine is equipped with a five speed manual transmission; though a four speed automatic transmission is optional. The engine equipped with the manual transmission accelerates at a good pace provided the driver does not rev the engine past 4,000 rpm. The engine equipped with the automatic transmission has a better acceleration rate, but it may make a lot of noise if the accelerator is pressed hard for a long time. The fuel economy ratings of the Vibe model equipped with the manual transmission are 26 miles per gallon on city streets and 33 miles per gallon highway.
The 2008 Vibe model is equipped with 16 inch tires, air conditioning, a CD player and a steering wheel that has tilt. One also gets the 2008 Vibe equipped with an optional preferred package that includes powered accessories, a cruise control system and keyless entry. Also available with the 2008 Vibe is a Sun and Sound Package which equips the vehicle with a sun roof and an expensive music system. Other equipment that is optional on the 2008 Vibe includes seats made of leather, a satellite radio and 17 inch tires. The Vibe is equipped with anti lock brakes, stability control system and curtain airbags that run the entire side of the vehicle. In safety tests carried out by the National Highway Traffic safety Administration for driver protection in case of a head on collision, the vehicle earned five stars out of five, and for the front passenger it earned four stars. In case of a side on collision the vehicle earned four stars for those seated in the front.
