The most common
dealer crimes are the crimes that you probably aren't even aware of.
The extended warranty or the credit life insurance. It's a felony in
most states to sell you either one based on credit and deception
however, many dealers still try and pull a fast one. If you believe
that the dealer forced you to purchase an extended warranty or credit
life insurance by all means report that dealer to your states
Attorney General immediately by using the links below. A Federal Law
prohibits a dealer or any loan company for that matter to require you
to purchase an extended warranty or credit life simply because of
your credit rating! Other crimes to report are failure to disclose
everything in writing on leases as required by FTC's
Regulation M, and not disclosing your trade-in value on the
lease. Florida is a great state for cracking down on cheating dealers
and manufacturers. Florida has already proceeded with suits against 5
major car dealers for deceptive leasing practices and advertising practices.
