2008 Suzuki Suzuki Grand Vitara XL 7 bargain accessory review
Most of this year's changes appear in the interior of the 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara and Vitara SUVs, while little has changed on their exterior. The Grand Vitara is a 4 door wagon with a V6 engine. 2WD and 4WD are the only trim level designations this year. As we prepared this 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara review, we were impressed with the numerous options and especially the enhanced performance features available. For example, all Suzuki Grand Vitaras offer low-range gearing rear-wheel drive or 4WD that must be disengaged on dry pavement. Automatic transmission is optional. ABS is available only on Grand Vitaras, where it's optional. A new dashboard and center console enliven the cabin.
Safety features on these models include driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, and both front and rear head restraints. The Suzuki Grand Vitara Limited models have added anti lock brakes and front fog lights to the package. All vehicles have child safety locks for the prevention of mishaps with youngsters. Standard luxuries range from air conditioning to cruise/speed control, rear defroster, keyless entry system, power door locks, power windows, and dual power mirrors. Others include a handy folding rear seat, an AM/FM stereo with CD player and a rear wiper for better visibility. The Grand Vitara Limited models sport opulent leather seating and a moonroof/sunroof.
The 2008 Suzuki Vitara Two-Door is a 4-passenger SUV available in two trims, the Two-Wheel Drive and the Four-Wheel Drive. The Vitara Two-Wheel Drive is equipped with a standard 2.0 liter, 127-horsepower engine that achieves 23-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. The Four-Wheel Drive is equipped with a standard 2.0 liter, 127-horsepower engine that achieves 22-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims, and a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The 2008 Vitara Two-Door is a carryover from 2002.
